Heading over to just above Castlegar - Mr Green Jeans is a 7km two way trail. It takes you to the trailhead of Captain Kangaroo, a black descent. The rider has two choices of trails to access the Mr Green Jeans. You can park at the Merry Creek parking lot and climb 'Merry Go Round' or drive to the top of that trail and start your climb on Mr. Green Jeans. Mr. Green Jean is a blue rated climb that meanders up the mountain reaching the top in about 7 kilometers. There are three spots on the climb where the trails meet so a rider can 'bail out' early if the full 7K climb is not an option. The descent has some challenging steeps and rocky sections that make it a black, but linking those sections much of the trail is a flowy loamy roll. This trail ends at the Merry Creek trails where, depending on where you parked, the rider can choose from a few different trails to complete your descent. For the average rider plan on a 3-4 hour return trip.
